Maybe one reason why I feel so good is that I'm still happy from the awesome birthday celebration for my mom. Here are some pictures illustrating the fun night. We got pedicures, watched the 3D Under The Sea movie at the Planetarium & had awesome burgers at The Counter. I'm ready to do it again!
There's no question that money makes the world go around, but I'm reading some of the things people suggest to save it and I'm dying laughing. Beingfrugal.net has a blog post named "168 Frugal Tips to Make Your Dollar Stretch" (http://beingfrugal.net/#ixzz0BSbd2v05) and these are actual tips. No joke folks. Most tips are your same old, same old saving money advice but there are some priceless gems such as "Rear your own chickens" (Yes a suburban SLC apartment complex is perfect for chicken rearage.), "Eat less. The average American eats too much." (Finally, the answer to my money and self image problems rolled into one!), "Have your young children shower with you, instead of giving them separate baths." (I don't feel the need to expand.), and my personal fave "Flush the toilet only after you use it 2-3 times." Really?? :O At what point does saving money take precedence over hygiene and the ability to invite a person inside the house? It's like the article I read a couple of years ago where the man says to save money on energy bills by lining your walls with old newspapers and covering your windows with blankets. Can you imagine living in a timber box like that? One spark and there's no getting out. Not to mention the aesthetics. Thanks for the advice, but I think I'll stick to trying not to eat out as much and walking to work.
